Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Fincator ("the service"), operated by Fincator, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the service. If you are using the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

2. Educational Use Only

Fincator provides personal-finance tracking, projections, and educational guidance. It is not a licensed financial adviser, broker, or tax professional, and nothing in the app constitutes regulated financial advice. Projections are estimates based on stated assumptions, not guarantees of future performance. Decisions you take with your money remain yours, and you should seek professional advice before acting on anything you read here.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. The service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly permit anyone under 16 to register or provide personal information.

4. Your Account and Security

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity on your account. Enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) is strongly recommended. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized access.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the service, attempt to access other users' data, or use it for illegal purposes. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the platform, violate our rate limits, or engage in fraudulent activity.

6. Subscriptions and Payment

Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details. You may cancel at any time from the Settings page; cancellation stops future renewals and leaves your access in place until the end of the period you have already paid for. Prices may change on notice, and a change never applies to a period you have already been billed for.

7. Advertising and Sponsored Content

The service may display advertising supplied by third-party networks, including Google. Advertisements are labelled as such and are kept visually separate from the product's own content and from any figure calculated from your data. We do not sell or transfer your financial records to advertisers, and an advertiser has no ability to see, target, or influence the numbers the app shows you. An advertisement is not a recommendation, endorsement, or financial advice, and any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and them.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

The service links to, and integrates with, systems we do not control — payment processing, market-data providers, and any site an advertisement points to. We are not responsible for the content, terms, or privacy practices of those third parties, and following a link means their terms apply, not ours.

9. Your Content and Data

You keep ownership of the financial data you enter or import. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service for you: to store that data, process it to produce the tracking, forecasts, analytics, and AI insights you request, and back it up. You may export it, or delete your account and with it the data, at any time from the Settings page.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. While we strive to maintain accuracy and availability, we make no warranties that the service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.

11. Limitation of Liability

Fincator is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy or reliability of financial projections or advice generated by our platform. Under no circumstances shall Fincator be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Termination

You may close your account at any time from the Settings page. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless doing so would itself be unlawful. Sections that by their nature survive termination — ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — continue to apply.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and we will give notice in the app of any change that materially reduces your rights. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.

14. Governing Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state and federal courts located in Delaware.

15. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@fincator.com.
