Who runs this site, what it does, and how it is paid for.
Fincator is built and operated by Fincator, a small independent software team. We are not a bank, a broker, or a licensed financial adviser, and we are not owned by one. Nobody pays us to steer you toward a product. The service is funded by its own subscriptions and by advertising shown alongside — never by selling the financial data you put into it.
Fincator is a personal financial operating system: one place to see the whole picture instead of six. It tracks day-to-day transactions and recurring bills, budgets and savings goals, investments, loans, and property, and then does the part a spreadsheet makes tedious — projects the balance forward five years, so you can see what a raise, a move, a rate change, or an early repayment actually does before you commit to it. An AI assistant sits on top of the same data to answer questions in plain language, and a FIRE module models what financial independence would take at your current trajectory.
Most people's financial life is spread across accounts that do not talk to each other, so the only view anyone has is a set of balances at a moment in time. That tells you where you are and nothing about where you are heading. We wanted the second thing: a forecast honest enough to be uncomfortable, built from your real numbers rather than a rule of thumb, and cheap enough to check on a Sunday afternoon. Everything in the product follows from that — the recurring engine exists so the forecast has something to project, the categories exist so the forecast can be questioned.
Your financial records are yours. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers — ad networks on this site see the ordinary technical signals any page view produces, never a transaction, a balance, or anything derived from one. AI features run only against your own authenticated data, with isolation enforced in the architecture rather than by convention. You can export everything you have entered, or delete your account and the data with it, at any time from Settings. The details are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Fincator is an educational and organisational tool. It does not give regulated financial advice, execute trades, or move money, and no projection it produces is a guarantee. Projections are arithmetic on assumptions you can see and change; they are useful precisely because you can argue with them. For decisions with tax, legal, or regulatory consequences, talk to a qualified professional.
Some pages carry third-party advertising, which helps keep the free tier free. Ads are labelled and kept visually separate from the product's own content, and advertisers have no say in what the app tells you: no advertiser can see your data, influence a forecast, change a category, or affect what the assistant says. If we ever recommend a product because we are paid to, it will say so on the page.
We answer email. Questions about the product, the data we hold, a privacy request, or a press enquiry all reach us at hello@fincator.com, and we aim to reply within a few working days — and within one month for any formal data-protection request, which is what the law requires of us.
